Welcome to the UCD Body Lab

 The Body Lab is located in the School of Psychology at University College Dublin and was established by Dr Sarah Cooney in 2022.

 As a founding Body Image Research Network (BIRN) member, our research examines beliefs, perceptions and attitudes toward the body.  We are particularly interested in the link between body image, the internal bodily self ( interoception)  and well-being across the lifespan. Studies also look at the role of multisensory development and embodiment in learning.

 We use a mixed-method approach including psychophysical testing, virtual reality and online data collection.
